Floral Faux Palm?

I made a floral tree today! What fun that was, making fake trees.
Whodathunk?!?!
Why rent or buy palm trees when you can make them yourself...
We had use of various foliage: leather fern, lemon leaf, palm, a variation of pine.
The project was meant to be a palm tree but ours morphed into something else.

Check it out: not my choice of colors but for practice it was fun.
I'm thinking deep purples and light lavenders and pink Peonies and purple hydrangeas for a
"Midsummer Nights Dream" theme.
~Swoon~how romantic!

Here is a glimpse underneath the canopy of branches.

Now if you were sitting underneath this, wouldn't you just love to look up and see clusters of beautiful flowers?

This one was pretty awesome. I couldn't quite capture all the details but it was really dreamy, perfect for an elaborate indoor tea party.

The base was especially interesting to me, it looked like it was growing from the base up with greenery, moss and lavender running up its "trunk".

Tropical Tree
This one really inspired me to think outside the box. They used dried materials combined with the fresh materials that really made an impact. They used grasses, reeds, bark, wicker baskets, and bamboo and created a tropical paradise without being cliche I think.

Keep in mind, they are way prettier in person than they are in my little amature pictures but I did want to share with you my work as I learn how to expand my floral skills and prepare to make big elaborate arrangements.
Who knows? I may be making some great big ol' fabulous piece for you one day :)
