The Atlanta Hawks, a team that just two years ago had a 37-45 record, is now 14-6 and in the top 5 in ESPN's Power Rankings. The Hawks are a very young team and a couple of their losses this seasons as well as the past two are due to a lack of focus and maturity, both happening because of being so young. Leading scorer Joe Johnson, a 6'8" shooting guard who is 28 years old and has only 8 seasons under his belt, has complained about the issue before but it still seems that there is no solution to this on going dilemma. Even seasoned veterans Joe Smith and Mike Bibby can't seem to solve this problem. Being young also has its advantages, however. The Hawks are faster than a lot of teams and can run longer longer than them in the fast break as well. The Hawks can also boast amazing athleticism as well with forwards Josh Smith and former Florida Gator Al Horford, who are able to finish high above the rim and come up with impressive put back slams. If the Hawks can find a solution to their lack of focus and intensity, they may be able to become one of the league's elite teams, which includes The Lakers, Celtics, Cavaliers, and Magic. Let's go Hawks!
