Age and Afflictions

In Novarium, I am going to have two aging mechanics.

First, there are Age Points. When you reach 10 age points, you die. Every year after you turn 30, you make a roll to determine whether you gain an age point or not. Most people will fail this roll every time, and die when they are about 40. I know that it slightly better than historical average for the time period, but I think it fits with some of the advances gained by a magical society.

If you critically fail the Age Point roll, you have to roll on the Affliction table. This can be.... quite nasty. See the below chart.

Now some of this stuff can be treated using magic, and most characters are going to jump at that solution, but there is a chance that the magic itself with cause some ancillary effects (which I will explain more fully in the future).

Note:
I did my best to research this stuff. However, one of the problems of living in the modern age is that there is an assumption you will get treatment. Modern references rarely say "if you do nothing, you will die in about 4-5 weeks". So if you have any suggestions on improving the factual accuracy of the above chart, by all means please share. I am not claiming monopoly on the truth here. I happen to know a few doctors read this blog, so please chip in if you see anything amiss.
