Table Numbers: Quick How to DIY

When Daisy asked me my opinion on table numbers for her wedding and the prerequisites were:

A. Cute
B. Easy to make because this request came a week before the wedding
C. Something that would "go" with the table menus and programs

I thought that the easiest way to go would be to attach the actual numbers to the vases with raffia. It was cost effective, pretty darn cute, and most importantly it was a very easy DIY wedding project that I was able to help her with at the last minute. and required:

*Brown Card stock
*White Card stock( lighter than the brown)
* Laser Printer
* Exacto Knife
* Chocolate raffia
* Double stick tape

I took at picture after the wedding reception of the table number vases because they were literally assembled on site. I had them in my hot little hands a few days before the wedding but since the centerpiece were submerged flowers that were going to be transported from the aisle to the table I thought it would be horrible if they were accidentally tipped and water + ink= YUCKY. The ink was going to bleed if they were wet and I didn't want to take the chance.

Daisy printed the number on a home computer onto the white card stock and glued it to the chocolate brown card stock and cut down to size. She then dropped it off to me a few days before.

When we arrived at the site I knew that this would be the first thing that needed to be tackled and so Jen, my friend who helped out, got to work creating about a half inch slit on the side of the number and sliding the raffia in through one slot from the front.

Then out out of the other side through the back to that you would not be able to see the raffia.

She then attached a few pieces of double stick tape to the corners so they would not peel during the reception or slide for whatever reason.
{I peeled it back afterwards to show you approximately where to place the tape.}

Once you have stuck it to the vase, tie the raffia off in the back and make a decorative bow, or simply tie off like we did.

Easy little DIY table numbers for a wedding or event.
This took Jen about 20 - 30 minutes to put together on site.
Imagine yourself doing this a few weeks out at home comfortably watching America's Favorite Dance Crew sipping a beer.

What-just me?

The sky is the limit on whatever else you decide to place on a vase, maybe a picture of the happy couple or tidbits of fun facts?
