Photo of "mom," Eloise Tamez with Barack Obama in South Texas. Photo credit: La Opinion.
Now, if we can get Obama to return to South Texas, and this time, hopefully he would be able to spend time to hear the indigenous people inform him about the wall, and the reason we need him to stop the construction of the wall, and open the dialogue with the locallly impacted families, communities and cultures. Perhaps then, with the support of the local indigneous leaders along the Rio Grande and inland, in four years, Texas could also flip from red to blue!
This photo is from a journalist who was covering Obama's visit to S. Texas and also covering my mom's struggle against the border wall. The journalist who took the photo is from La Opinion, out of Mexico City.
