Liar Liar

I watched this movie again today. It was perhaps the 12th time? Maybe more. Hard to describe how truly awesome this movie is and if you disagree, well.... blow me.

Anyway, what struck me is that as I have watched the movie successively, certain elements become less funny. For example, the scene where he is pulled over by the cop. Not as funny anymore.

One particular kind of scene is almost always hilarious though, which is what I want to discuss here tonight.

This woman is his boss.

After he sleeps with her and subsequently insults her, he knows that he has to avoid contact with her at all costs. So when she appears, he has this visceral reaction where he yells out something like.... well like this...



For some reason, that "HOLY HELL!" reaction is just hilarious to me.

I am at a loss to explain, but it is just damn hilarious to me. Even when other stuff fades, even when the other physical comedy fades, this remains. There are I think 2 other times in the film where he does it. "Sweet Jesus!" or something similar as she comes out of an office.

Any idea why this is so funny to me?
