Layout Design for Pieces of Eight

So I have been thinking a lot about this today. Sitting in a waiting room for my wife, gotta do something.

So I'm thinking that I will organize it like function calls in computer programming. You have a main menu of sorts. The GM tells you that you have sighted a ship on the horizon. So you click on the button for "Ship Sighted". This is a function call.

So now you go into a guided tour of the rules. It says you need to make some seamanship rolls to establish positioning, so you do. Let's say you succeed, so you click on a button for success. If you failed, you might have gone down a different path.

Each time you make a choice, you are only presented with the rules you need at that second. There is no more "remembering" rules. You have the rules you need right there.

When you finish what you are doing, you go back to the main menu.

thoughts?
