Use of Space: Example Map

Here is a taste of what I am meant in the last post about using more expansive space.

This is an obviously primitive piece. Completely untextured, uncolored, no doors or icons of any kind, etc. I don't add those effects to my maps until close to the end of the process.

However, you can get the basic sense of what I am going for. When the PCs enter the main hall from the north, they are looking out into a room of significant size. There are two huge stone columns that sit atop raised platforms and hold up the ceiling. There is a pool of water at the bottom, a walkway leading to that circular platform (which in the final version will probably be inlaid with a summoning circle or some kind of interesting object. Across the pool is a ledge with no obvious way of reaching it. On the left ledge, there are two doors visible from the room entrance. There are two 25' avenues leading off into the darkness. And there is even a drain in the floor, leading god knows where.

Lots of possibilities.

Thoughts?
