A Happy Halloween Bride

It was a crazy floral weekend folks...
A bridal bouquet pick up, Halloween party flowers, a mock up for a trial bouquet for a brown copper yellow wedding, and a succulent wedding today. I'm beat.

This bouquet was a quick pick up for a bridal bouquet and matching boutonniere.
It was a simple bouquet composed of peach roses, chocolate cosmos, and burgundy succulents.

The matching boutonniere was a simple rose to match on peach, a smaller burgundy succulent with a leave backing and a grosgrain brown and gold ribbon I have been harboring for a while now.

This little burgundy succulent was one of the smaller ones that I couldn't use on the centerpiece for my succulent wedding but perfect for small boutonniere.

See? Halloween bouquets don't have to be scary right?

Part two of this post is a few pictures from my sisters Halloween Party.

Iguana roses, rose hips, china berries, a tiny bit of pitto, amaranthus, and a branch that is spray painted black with some orange glitter.

This one is I wanted to make with clear separate groupings with contrasting colors.
Rust cymbidiums, yellow oncidiums, black millet, orange mokara orchids, green china berries, and red rose hips.
I printed a picture of my sister and her boyfriend on some velum paper, taped it to some cylinder vases I had, stuck a candle inside and called it day! :)

She made some cupcakes and caramel apples and borrowed my cupcake stand and created a beautiful(and yummy) display.
I was shocked when I walked into the kitchen because my sister, self admittedly ,can't boil water and this looks damn good. So good in fact I paid her a backhanded compliment and told her I thought for a split second that maybe I had made it! lol

These bright flowers went to a Passover dinner last night.

I delivered these flowers to the Castro in San Francisco yesterday to a Susan who only instructed me o bright yellow. She wanted dashes of red and I immediately thought of my favorite tulips!

Aren't they fantabulous? They are yellow parrot tulips. They are so bright and cheerful and the shape of the petals slay me.

I used yellow snapdragons, red alstromeria, yellow fancy roses, yellow parrot tulips, orange rununculas, yellow mini carnations, some green asparagus, and green bluperum.

Here they are set up in her home.

Christmas Centerpiece

I am really in love with these yearn ornaments that I have been seeing lately.
I used some in my floral arrangement.
I made an arrangement for CCSF's Annual Christmas Boutique.
Hopefully someone will buy my arrangement. I really liked it and was this close to buying it myself for our table but stopped myself. My house is full of flowers at the moment so maybe I will make myself one for our Christmas dinner table.

So what do you think of my un-Thanksgiving Cornucopia (sp?)

I really wasn't trying to do fall so I thought I would add some Pink rununculas, Passion Flower, Privet Berries, Eucalyptus, Lavender,Kale, Thyme, and Geranium.
I kind of like it and think it could work as a centerpiece for an event or maybe even a wedding.



But look!
I wasn't the only one, hehe.
jenny said she couldn't help but Goth it out a bit by spray painting hers purple and adding lace.
I think it's cute. :)

Want to make a floral pumpkin centerpeice?
These are super easy to make. Ready?

Go out and buy a basic holiday floral bouquet from a flower shop or Trader Joe's or a Costco, break it apart and cut the flowers and greens down to about 3 inches of stem. Soak some floral foam, place it on a round dish that will hold the floral foam(being careful to use a container that has sides so that the water from the soaked foam does not spill over like, say, in a flat dish). Place your gourd in the middle of the foam and then start evenly spreading out your flowers all the way around. You will be surprised, it doesn't take that many flowers and leaves.
Make one for Thanksgiving dinner!

I just love this time of year....
It's Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday(it's a holiday for me:P)Christmas, and New Years crammed into 90 days!
Martha Stewart has been kicking things off for me in the form of Email bombardment . I have been receiving all kinds of goodies by email.
I make these boards because I find them easier to store on my hard drive and then if I need some Autumn inspiration *viola* there it is. =)
I just love the cookies and the knit basket. Don't you just want a cup of coffee or hot chocolate?
