I could grow them in my backyard, but sadly, my thumb is black. : /

This is a mock up for an outdoor wedding taking place on someone's estate.
That's the second one I have this year and I am thrilled!
This is a wooden container with a plastic liner inside that I have been holding on to for a while now, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to be used.
What do you think of the blue and red runner?

The kumquats are bananas. Yeah it doesn't make sense, but you get me right?

I used red rununculas, white daffodils, kumquats on the branch, and surprise surprise:
wild golden poppies.
The golden poppies won't last in the arrangement but they can stand in for now so that my couple can get an idea of what a bright orange flower would look like in there.


*sigh* I love looking at it in my kitchen...and believe me I NEVER bring flowers home.

Baby Boy Baptism

Logi Pogi had a baptism and wow-there was a LOT of people there to celebrate! :)

The biggest baby shower I have ever seen and done the flowers for was earlier this year for this baby boy so when C&A called me to make floral arrangements for the baptism I said of course!

My goodness, it was like a mini wedding! Hehe, that little boy is so loved...

We started with the front appetizer table. Would you look at that humongous cupcake??
It's like the size of the base of my vase!
Isn't it cute? I have always wanted to bake a cupcake that big....

The outside cocktail tables were lined with simple small arrangements.
I love the polar star roses! They look like garden roses don't they?

The head table was lined with simple small arrangements at the edge of the table.

The centerpiece were composed of four vases in varying glass vases.
They were all finished with blue ribbon around the neck of the vase.
The flowers were all white and blue. I realized that I took didn't have pictures of the tall centerpiece with the blue bella donna's in them so you will have to take my word for it. :/

Everyone loved the clean look of the white snap dragon in a tall vase.

My favorite part were the cupcake favors that were placed at each table. SUPER CUTE.
They were chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with chocolate and vanilla icing and a fondant cross.
The cupcakes were placed into clear boxes with Paper Source stickers that had the baby's name and date.


Last but not least was the cake from Mazzetti's in Pacifica. Hands down the BEST raisin bran muffin in the world, Sunset magazine has been trying for years to the recipe but the owner says no way. My husband and I sat down to sample their wedding cakes when we were shopping for ours but ultimately we went with Nikki's cakes over at A Tale of Two Truffles.
So they asked me to decorate the cake with a specific design and then when I got there the cake was not as described, so we had no choice but to improvise.
Before: A simple white cake with navy blue ribbon.

After: cluster of white and blue hydrangea.

That was it! A nice luncheon for the baby of the hour on his special day.

A Happy Halloween Bride

It was a crazy floral weekend folks...
A bridal bouquet pick up, Halloween party flowers, a mock up for a trial bouquet for a brown copper yellow wedding, and a succulent wedding today. I'm beat.

This bouquet was a quick pick up for a bridal bouquet and matching boutonniere.
It was a simple bouquet composed of peach roses, chocolate cosmos, and burgundy succulents.

The matching boutonniere was a simple rose to match on peach, a smaller burgundy succulent with a leave backing and a grosgrain brown and gold ribbon I have been harboring for a while now.

This little burgundy succulent was one of the smaller ones that I couldn't use on the centerpiece for my succulent wedding but perfect for small boutonniere.

See? Halloween bouquets don't have to be scary right?

Part two of this post is a few pictures from my sisters Halloween Party.

Iguana roses, rose hips, china berries, a tiny bit of pitto, amaranthus, and a branch that is spray painted black with some orange glitter.

This one is I wanted to make with clear separate groupings with contrasting colors.
Rust cymbidiums, yellow oncidiums, black millet, orange mokara orchids, green china berries, and red rose hips.
I printed a picture of my sister and her boyfriend on some velum paper, taped it to some cylinder vases I had, stuck a candle inside and called it day! :)

She made some cupcakes and caramel apples and borrowed my cupcake stand and created a beautiful(and yummy) display.
I was shocked when I walked into the kitchen because my sister, self admittedly ,can't boil water and this looks damn good. So good in fact I paid her a backhanded compliment and told her I thought for a split second that maybe I had made it! lol

Baby Shower for a Baby Boy!

Yes, another shower!
Told ya. Last week everyone rushed out to get pregnant.

Haha, just kidding, C &A have been planning this shower for a minute now. It was actually bigger than some weddings I have had this year!!!!! Can you believe it? 200+ people at a shower!

Holy Moly. My wedding wasn't that big...well almost, but still. They have a lot of family and friends and a lot of love going on. :)

{Baby Boys}

I had the task of dying some of the most beautiful white Akito Roses I have had to a baby blue color. These roses were so white I couldn't figure out what setting to put my camera on so it could capture the detail!
Locally grown geranium smells SO GOOD to me.....

The flowers were dyed so that they could be dropped into varying heights glass cylinder vases, submerged in water and placed in the table as centerpiece. We set out forty of these glass vases.


I made the mothers a corsage to wear for the day. The first corsage is more modern,I decorated with some aqua bouillon and some baby blue decorative wire. The corsage is made out of lime dendrobiums, some white spray roses, and a little bit of wax flower.

That wax flower kills me when the little buds are pearlescent like that.
They are perfectly white buds that add great detail to corsages I think. :)

This is a more traditional corsage for the mother of the...mother...to..be..wait. The grandmother! lol, omg. I was kind at a blank there. I am so used to saying Mother of the Bride! :)

Anyhow! This corsage is blue and white with a touch of lime. I used an Akito Rose, some kermit mums, white spray roses and some white wax flower.

We places a small check-in arrangement at the sign in table.
This little guys has baby blue hydrangea, white Akito roses, white spray roses, myrtle, fern, geranium, lemon Leaf, lime dendrobium, and some wax flower.

The parents to be were so cute! They put a picture of the baby's sonogram up for everyone to see. If you look closely you can see the baby is sucking his thumb. I told her that my son, did that in his sonogram picture too, and that he unfortunately, uses a pacifier and is addicted to that thing. :(

One of her girlfriends made a diaper cake. Isn't it cute? Perfect for a Baby Boy.

I let her use my candy bar containers and scoops for her shower.
You cannot go wrong with a candy bar! I tell ya, guests *love* it.
It also makes for awesome pictures.

This are the labels she made.
For all you DIY-ers her how to make the labels for a candy bar bag.
Super easy.
All it takes is plastics bags that you can get at a party store or a dollar store.
You can but the labels at an Office supply store or if you have access to a Paper Source you can get super cute colors there.

That baby is going to be the cutest thing ever and it's going to be so loved once he gets here in August. Thanks for letting me be a part guys. Wish I could have stayed and enjoyed the lumpias but the boy was ill and duty called. You will soon enter the Parent Zone :P

Oh Boy!

You are now entering baby shower land and the longest post EVER!!! :)

What happens when a floral designer gets baby blues and one of her best friends gets pregnant and she decides to throw her a babyshower?
Said floral designer lives vicariously through her preggo friend and gets a tad bit carried away.....

Once upon a time there was a girl who met a boy.
They fell in love and went for loooong drives dreaming about where they would go and travel on adventures.
One day the stork came by for a visit{wink, wink}
Then the boy and the girl marveled at how lucky they were to have a baby boy on the way.
Then girl messed up by having her OCD friend plan a babyshower.
She had lots and lots of flowers and everyone at her shower wanted to rush home and get pregnant just so they too could have a shower!!!!! lol

I kept telling the girls(Jess, Char, Heidi, Saira and I threw the gig of the year. ....at least in our minds) that we were going to throw the biggest bestest babyshower in the world and everyone would be so jealous at our babyshower that they would want to get pregnant just so we could throw them parties and that we should start a baby shower company!
hehe, I can dream right? :P

{Baby Boys}

When the guests arrived we had a diaper name tag ready for them to pin on./ That way people who didn't know each other would at least know the persons first name. What they didn't know was that one of them was a "dirty" diaper and that on the inside was a sticker that would later determine the winner of our diaper game.

The we had them fill out a wish for the baby and then hang them on the Manzanita tree we had displayed.

I love brooches so I pinned one onto the ribbon around the vase of the Manzanita Tree. I got the cute Monkey at Michaels Store that we would later glue onto the letters we painted.

But in the meantime, we used them on the wish tree and on the diaper cakes.


This is a bassinet I found at Goodwill. What a steal at $2, the only thing I did was take design master spray paint in brown and then in copper to jazz it up a bit. It was filled it with a liner, then foam, then a pave of mums and carnations.


Next were the favors that I blogged about a few months ago.
The cutest favors that I got at Target of all places in the dollar section.
The pink bud vase said "DREAM", the blue one said "HOPE", the green one"LIVE LAUGH LOVE". I put flowers in the bud vases: Green kermit mums, pale yellow mini carnations, yellow roses, white and blue star of Bethlehem, white buttons mums, and a pink flower that I cannot for the life of me remember the name? When the guests took away the favors they could put a flower in them think of little Pauly when they used it.


Next we decorated the dessert bar with paper lanterns in yellow ans green hanging from a beam and we hung up baby clothes form a clothes line. Well I forgot the clothes line so I used ribbon.

Instead of a cake, we served brownie bites, lemon bites, sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, flan, keylime pie, mini cupcakes and laceys. OH! and coffee of course :)

Jessica made these super cute chocolate lollipops. Aren't they ADORABLE?

She also made these cute diaper cakes to put on display on our dessert table.
Too cute.

I made all the gals that planned the party corsages and then made a special one out of scabiosa pods, lily grass, and yellow orchids for the
mommy-to-be.

I made different flower centerpiece for the baby shower so that we could have variety and that we could give them away as gifts.
I made this little guy so it could sit in this white chair I found at a thrift shop.
I used geranium, scabiosa pods, white roses, lime,blue and lavender hydrangea, and some light blue delphinium, lily grass. bluperum, and a green filler that I don't know the name of.
Help? anyone??? They look like jacks to me and they are super tall....hmmmm.

These centerpiece were used on the round tables, and they were floral wreaths composed of blue. lime, and lavender hydrangea, white, yellow, and greens button mums,salal, some delphinium, and white roses. I placed a fish bowl with some water and floating rubber duck.

People loved these!

This little rocking horse was the belle of the ball. Again, shop at your local thrift stores, they have some great recycled stuff for pennies. I found this guy at a Salvation Army for $2.99 and I dropped a liner and filled it with flowers. Same as above except I added Kale to this one.

This one sat at the beverage station. We served, water, fresh melon juice, Sangria, and Champagne and sherbet punch.

The peonies in this one were outrageous! They were blooming and opening up the biggest fluffiest white during the party, they were unreal!!! I also used yellow callas in the arrangement as well as white hydrangeas.

There were two of these that I made onsite with the extra flowers to give away.
I figured someone would take them home...
The decorations for a boy baby shower were kind of easy for us since she didn't have a real theme like winnie the pooh or sesame street or anything like that. She just wanted to decorate the nursery with browns blues and some green so the rest for us was easy!

This blue and white centerpiece was blue hydrangeas with cream peonies and scabiosa pods along with the green seasonal filler that I absolutely loved.

One of the guests that one our guessing game contest went home with the jar of jelly bellies and an arrangement of her choice. She posed for a picture and I think she looks like a bride with her bouquet don't you? I think this would be good for a bride with a blue, green and cream theme.

Here is the Mommy to be, she's got her pregnancy glow on and she is posing with that bonnet of ribbon and bows that someone made for her from her gifts. She looked so cute someone said" Wait!!! Give her flowers so she can complete the look!"
Not quite sure what "look" meant, but she sure did look cute didn't she?

SO all in all, the babywhoer wa a great success. Everyone loved the babyshower decorations, the food, and the drinks. They thought the babyshoewer was unique with its modern twist on details. Monica was glowing and us girls were happily sipping on sangria all day. It was nice to get together and be able to design for my friend! She's going to be a great mommy and I can't wait to meet the little one. :)
