I tend to react to ideas that are flowing by in my blogroll. As anyone who has followed this blog for a while knows, I have a very extensive one. I feel like I put too many OSR blogs in my blogroll and as a result I was inundated in OSR stuff all the time. My commentary tended to be provincial, stuck in that one community.
I intend to end that.
In order to broaden my horizons, I have deleted everyone on my blogroll that has not made a post in a month. I was close to maxed out before, now I am down to the 250 range. Which means I have a lot of slots that I can fill with fresh perspectives to help add some color to my internet "dorm room" so to speak.
However, I want to clearly state that I do not make decisions about my blogroll or who I am following based on petty personal politics, arguments, disagreements, or just dumbassness. I make those decisions based on content alone. That is why Alexis is still in my blogroll despite being an asshole of legendary proportions. I have even made the personal pledge to never post comments on his blog. However, the man is brilliant, assholery aside, and I enjoy reading his blog on many occasions. So it has stayed, through the ups and downs, it has stayed in the list.
Some people are not so inclined in our community and I have lost a few followers over the last week. C'est la vie. It is the price of speaking your mind. If you cannot bear to have people disagree with you, best not write on the internet.
