My experience has always been, from my beginnings in 2e to today, that spell components are always ALWAYS ignored. Completely ignored. That stuff might as well not be in the book.
I don't know why exactly that is. But it is.
What is your experience on this? Do you use spell components? What do you feel is gained by doing so?
I just want to step out of my ignorance here and get a broader perspective.
