To Dance a Happy Dance

There is a special joy in the completion of a long arduous task. For lack of a better word, I shall call this the joy of conquest. It is a fleeting joy which leaves as quickly as it comes. One must embrace it, shake it violently, and drink deep from the cup of life.

This joy is what drives people to play 100+ hour video game campaigns, to watch the entire end credits of said video game, and then sink down into a happy puddle of oblivion. This joy is what drives people to hold up the multi-year RPG campaign as the holy grail of gaming. To have marched the long road and reached the end is it's own special victory.

I suppose it is also the intoxicant that drives megalomaniacs, but let's sweep that under the rug for now.

So today I do the happy dance. For after a long and arduous journey, Synapse has reached a state that is sublime. This new version is a giant leap forward from the original one. I just have to double-check it one last time tonight and then the new file will go up.

I have spent more time on writing this than any other project in my entire life. It is far more complex and intricate than anything I have ever created. Not in school, not at work. For me, this is a mountain of epic height and today I sit atop the summit and survey the world below.

Life is good

FYI : There will be a new version of Errant in the next couple weeks as well. Stay tuned for that as well.
