WIP idea for a game design, just floating through my head today.
Designed to create gameplay like a revenge film; Payback, Man on Fire, Ransom, Bourne, etc.
Your character starts out really really good. Then over time, you degrade as you spend points that never get replenished, ultimately achieving an objective you knew from the beginning of the game. Eventually, you run out of points and die OR you achieve the objective and die OR you achieve the objective and escape while right on the edge of death.
Kinda turns the normal campaign concept on it's head.
Thoughts?
