Eye to Eye

Paris "Lazy-Eye" Hilton
I am not a gamer at all. I have never really figured out how to use those little machines like the Playstation,  Xbox and Nintendo because I have really tiny hands. But with my diminutive digits aside, even I am am very aware  of Nintendo’s latest console named 3DS which is all set to be launched Sunday on March 27th.

OK, so it is understandable that the excitement level is at a fevered pitch among the tech geeks and console players across the planet as they await to uncover what Nintendo has in store for them this time. So as an avid blog reader of Ava Aston's Muckery you must be thinking to yourself,  OK, she has finally flipped her noggin this time. And you might be mumbling to yourself that perhaps I am a Geek blond girl and not a Greek blond girl. Well, I am here to say don't get your pantaloons all in a wad because I am indeed a Greek, not a Geek. But there still is a special reason why I am excited about the impending release of the Nintendo 3ds.

Playstation 3ds

According to Michael Duenas and the American Optometric Association the Nintendo 3DS, once slammed as an eye-destroying device, the Playstation is now being thought of as a tool for diagnosing eye disorders. According to Digital Trends, optometrists feel this could be a useful tool for early warning signs of a disorder called strabismus, or better known as a lazy eye. Other than Paris Hilton, (who doesn't like to talk about her Lazy Eye publicly) we all know someone else who needs to get a Nintendo 3DS to diagnosis their strabismus ASAP don't we? Hint: He is my manager and his last name rhymes with a popular breakfast cereal that has a rabbit for their mascot!

The way that it works is that people who play the new Nintendo and who can't see the 3D effect could possibly have a lazy eye. Dizziness or discomfort caused by the 3DS could also indicate a vision problem. So this could be a godsend to a contingency of cranky old men like Mr. Bricks who have a Lazy Eye but are living in denial. All you have to do is hook their butts up to one of these little gadgets and if they can't see the special effects - bingo, it's official  - they have a Lazy Eye. Paris Hilton doesn't deny it she just doesn't like to talk about it.

So other than being kinda creepy, what is a Lazy Eye? Well in simple non-medical terms it can be due to being cross eyed or wall eyed. The danger of the condition is that the noggin comes in time to rely more on one eye than the other and that part of the brain wiring gets mucked up and the circuitry connected to the less-favored eye fails to develop properly leading to potential blindness in that eye. The classic treatment, as I mentioned in the blog the other day is an eye patch.

NOTE: No managers or socialites were harmed during the writing of this blog!

Blessings,

Ava

I'll Stand By You

Shakira
Oh, why you look so sad?
Tears are in your eyes
Come on and come to me now
Don't be ashamed to cry
Let me see you through
'cause I've seen the dark side too
When the night falls on you
You don't know what to do
Nothing you confess
Could make me love you less
Those are some of the Shakira lyrics from her song, I'll Stand By You.  One of the main things we all want in our life is to know that no matter what we do, some one will be standing by for us. I think it is a Universal desire.
Most of the time we look to our family to be there standing by for us. Other times it is a good friend. I think we all know someone who always seems to be there whenever someone else needs a little extra attention. I think there must be a special place in heaven for those people.
The main reason I decided to be a recording artist was not just for the fame or fortune, but it was also to have the opportunity to be able to help out others - to stand by them, if you will, in a time of need. I think part of the responsibility for those of us in the limelight is to be there for others.
It is so easy to get self-absorbed in our own muckery that we sometimes forget to be ready and able to  "standy by" others in their time of need. I know whenever I am able to be there for others in the middle of their muckery meltdown, there is always a good feeling for me at the end of it. But alas, The Greek Girl is not perfect (huge shocker, huh?) and sometimes I am not there for others as much as I want to be.
Whenever I am watching The Biggest Loser and now A & E's Heavy I can't help but think of Shakira's song. Trainers Jillian and Bob are basically telling the contestants who are trying to lose weight to lean on them.  They know its hard work, but they want to make sure that those people know that when times get tough, they will be there to help pick them up.  It's why I love those shows. The message is right in line with what is in my noggin, to be there to help others.
Maybe that is why I am also such a huge dog lover. Dogs seem to have the "stand by you" gene  built into their doggie DNA.  Cats, not so much. Cats, for what ever reasons seem to be totally opposite in this department. Sure they can be affectionate - when they want too. And yes, cats can cheer you up -when they want too. Everything they do is on their own time schedule. Living with a cat is like constantly walking on egg shells - because you really don't know what type of mood they are in.  They don't operate on people time, they work on CPT  (Cat People Time).  That is so annoying. I guess you can surmise that I don't have any cats and that I don't really see eye to whiskers with cats. Note to Cat People: PLEASE NO HATE MAIL. I do like cats...but not as much as I love dogs - just sayin'. And don't even get me started about rabbits.
So I am putting a challenge to everyone out there to lace up your sneakers and go out and be there for someone who needs a helping hand. Not only is it the right thing to do - but it'll make you feel like a million bucks!  Hello Mr. Bricks are you reading this??
Blessings,
Ava

I Bet You Are Addicted to Facebook

A recent new Scottish study reveals that Facebook addiction is being compared to a gambling addiction. I find this odd only because I do not think I have ever encountered someone wearing a kilt on Facebook.
The Scottish study is in contrast to a recent study on ABC News that reported that there are no real scientific studies that have been done on Facebook Addiction. However, Dr. James Mol, a psychologist for Providence Behavioral Health said millions of Americans do have some sort of Internet addiction. It appears that a great many noggin doctors have been saying that many of their patients have admitted they have a problem in their coconut with their own inability to step away from the computer.
Social Networking is a fairly new phenomenon and there are currently no universally accepted rules to diagnose an addiction to a social networking site like Facebook. Luckily, this is where the Greek Blonde Girl comes in and saves the day.  As the newly self-appointed Czar of Facebook Addiction I've decided to list a few common, but yet unusual traits to keep in mind if you think you/your friends/lovers/BFF/boss/co-workers/or newly made Facebook friends might have a social networking disease.
  1. You are doing your 2011 taxes and spend all day trying to find the proper online form to deduct your Farmville crop loses on Turbo Tax.
  2. You spend more of your paycheck buying Facebook cash to play Facebook games than you do buying sneakers in the real world.  That's just wrong.
  3. You update your Facebook wall on your cell phone while you are on a public toilet. You are so engrossed in updating your status that you forget to turn off the location feature. No one wants to know that you are in the ladies room at Kohl's updating your status and doing your business at the same time.
  4. You list your high score on Bejewled Blitz as a skill on your resume.
  5. You search on Facebook for my manager Mr. Bricks' profile so you can add him as a friend and check out the photos of his lazy eye. trust me, it's not a pretty sight.
  6. You realize maybe it was a big mistake to try to do some of the same things you do playing Mafia Wars to help you try to get a better table at a restaurant.
  7. You know what it means to "pimp your profile."
  8. You added a person from your past as a "friend" but really it was to keep an eye on them. Hello people. That's called stalking and there are laws against that!
  9. You've seen the movie The Social Network more than once.
  10. You look at your Facebook news feed before your morning coffee and you look at Facebook news feed after your evening Vodka.
So, as more and more people become Facebook members this problem is not going away, its only getting worse. So it looks like my job of the Czar of Facebook Addiction  is secure for many years to come.
It should also be noted that Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook or the Winklevoss Twins have not yet commented on the new study.

Do You Like Skins?

Potato Skins = Mr. Bricks' favorite appetizer
Recently my manager Mr. Bricks convinced me to meet him in Times Square at the TGI Friday's for what he called a "meeting." As it turns out it was just another excuse for Mr. Bricks to get me to buy him lunch. And since Mr. Bricks travels between Los Angeles and New York a great deal I usually try to let him pick the places he wants to meet for lunch when he is in the city.
I am not a fan of Times Square nor a fan of TGI Friday's - but at least TGIF is a type of restaurant that if you want to eat healthy like I always do, you can usually find something on the menu that doesn't have massive amounts of sodium. I had the Santa Fe Chicken Salad and water with lemon.
Mr. Bricks had the Barbecue Jack Chicken, french fries, a house salad and a mudslide for his meal. (I think I actually heard his arteries hardening as he was ordering) But for an appetizer Mr. Bricks also ordered the Potato Skins - fully loaded. It turns out that, that was what our entire meeting was all about. Potato Skins. Hang on. Follow the Greek Blonde girl on this one.
When Mr. Bricks ordered the Potato Skins he had a huge smile on his face. His lazy eye was relatively steady. Something was definitely up. So I asked.
Me: "What's up Mr. Bricks?"
Mr. Bricks: "Aren't you proud of me?"
Me: "For What?"
Mr. Bricks: "I ordered Potato Skins"
Me: "and???" (using my arms gesturing WTH in my best Greek sign language move)
Mr. Bricks: "We'll isn't that one of your so-called super foods?"
Me: " Not exactly"
I never should have said that because that woke up the lazy eye.
In my best Jillian Michaels' voice I tried to explain to Mr. Bricks that when you take the so-called super food of a nice Idaho Potato and then scoop out the guts and deep-fry it until it is a crispy brownish golden color you kinda lose the "super" from the phrase "super food".  Furthermore, when you then take the deep-fried potato carcass and fill it to the rim with thick cut maple flavored smoked bacon and add more melty cheddar cheese than you would put on a family sized pizza you are now bordering on a federal crime.
Personally, if I knew who ever invented the potato skin-cheddar cheese-bacon bits-sour cream concoction as an appetizer I  think I would bop them upside their noggin. What were they thinking?
Anyway, back to the corner table upstairs at TGI Friday's overlooking Times Square I spent the next 2 hours explaining the entire super food concept to Mr. Bricks over and over. I think I lost him at the first mention of thick cut bacon. That's when the eye started twitching so bad I had to look away.
Now I know with the Super Bowl coming up next month many Super Bowl parties will feature so much unhealthy foods like Potato Skins that Mr. Bricks will be mad he can't attend them all. But I just hope after our "business meeting" and my explanation of the unhealthy aspects of eating Potato Skins that it will no longer be business as usual for Mr. Bricks' eating habits.
A Greek girl can dream can't she?

I Have A Dream

For several nights in a row I have had the same recurring dream. Each time I wake up just before I find out what happens next. I love to dream. I think when you dream it is your mind opening up and allowing more creativity to flow into your coconut.
I have been able to lucid dream. A lucid dream is where the dreamer is aware that it is just a dream and that they are dreaming. The term "lucid dreaming" was first used by a Dutch psychiatrist named Frederik van Eeden at the turn of the century.
Because I can lucid dream, I can go from a conscious state right into the dream I want to dream. This is not Greek voodoo or anything freaky, this is real scientific stuff. It does take practice to be able to lucid dream.  I know some of you will now say..."oh that explains half of the blogs Ava writes. She's been lucid dreaming!" To that I say, Hardy - har - har!! Funny. But, nope, I am fully awake when I write these blogs. This crap just flows my little Greek noggin, day after day.
Ok, so the dream I have been having (but unable to finish) takes place at a concert of mine.  It is weird because in the dream I am playing a guitar, but in real life I do not play the guitar. I am sitting on a stool in the center of a stage.  I am wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. The only lights on in the building are spot lights shining on me. I can tell from the sounds coming from the audience that it is a pretty big crowd. It is also a friendly crowd because I can hear them shouting "We Love You Ava" from time to time.
Although during my dreams I am singing, when I am awake I am not aware of what songs I was singing in the dream. Those details are kinda of fuzzy. After each song, I feel closer and closer to the audience, in a connected sort of way. It is like I am feeding off of them and them off of me. I tell the audience that as long as they want to hear me sing, I will stay up there and keep singing. When ever I say that the crowds roars with approval.
The ability to just sit there and sing and sing and sing without getting tired is all part of the dream. It's like I can do it forever. And that's part where I wake up. So far in this recurring dream, I never stop singing. And thankfully the audience never grows tired of hearing me sing! What I am trying to do by picking up this dream night after night is to see what happens after I go off stage...but so far that hasn't happened yet.
When I sit and think about the symbolism of this dream, I am not surprised by it at all.  I will never quit singing! So that part of the dream is spot on.
I decided to dig a little deeper into perhaps what this dream might mean. From an online dream dictionary here are some key aspects of the dream and what they might mean:
Singing
To sing in your dream, represents happiness, harmony and joy in some situation or relationship. You are uplifting others with your positive attitude and cheerful disposition. Singing is a way to celebrate, communicate, embrace and express your feelings.
Guitar
To see or play a guitar in your dream, represents passion and emotion.

To see or wear sneakers in your dream, suggest that you are approaching through life with ease and little obstacles. It also denotes comfort and satisfaction with yourself and who you are. Alternatively, the dream indicates that you lead an active life and are always on the go
Spotlight
To dream that you are in the spotlight, indicates your need to be noticed and to be the center of attention. Perhaps you are feeling overlooked in your waking life and the dream is a compensatory one.
Audience
To dream that you are in front of an audience, represents the world around you and how it is paying close attention to your actions.
My manager Mr. Bricks has been telling me that some really great things are going to be happening in my career really soon. I guess it appears that I am now dreaming about it! Perhaps when I try lucid dreaming I am never able to find out how the dream really ends is because in real life, I never want to stop singing!
That is my dream!
Blessings,
Ava

Miss America

Hi my name is Ava Aston and I'm from New York!
One of the great benefits of doing what I do is having the ability to travel all over. Not just throughout the United States, but all around the world.
I take seriously this responsibility of trying to be a good Ambassador for America...maybe like a Miss Blonde Greek America in sneakers, if you will. In some countries I am the very first American some people personally meet. Yes, that could be a scary thought I know.
But not nearly as scary as if my manager Mr. Bricks was someone's first impression of an American. I think the French have a term for that. It's called an Ugly American. Not that Mr. Bricks is ugly as in a lazy eye sort of ugly way, but maybe they might see him ugly as in the way some French people see all Americans as Ugly - just sayin.' And I might add, not all French people see it that way. I consistently get a great deal of CD requests and fan mail from all over France and all of them love Americans.
My blog is truly a United Nations of Readers with multiple readers in many countries:
  • United Kingdom
  • France
  • Russia
  • India
  • Japan
  • Australia
  • South Africa
  • Philippines
  • Germany
  • Slovenia
  • Greece  (My dad better be reading my blog!)
  • Canada
  • Mexico
  • Italy
  • Switzerland
  • Dubai
  • Indonesia
  • Columbia
  • New Zealand
  • Malaysia
  • Singapore
I want to give them a good impression of  life in America - so I try to keep my blogs funny, uplifting and positive! I am like the Blonde Greek American Welcome Wagon of the blogs on the internet. I will leave the mudslinging, back stabbing and name calling to the main stream media.
So I guess in my travels abroad I'm also looking to prove a point or two. While I am out wearing my imaginary crown and imaginary sash that reads, "Miss Blonde Greek America" I do not want the people of other countries to think that all American girls are what they are being spoon feed from American pop culture. Those American girls should not be role models for the impressionable minds of someone wanting to know about our way of life. I am purposely striving to be a different type of role model.
They should know that not all American girls go on stage in their bra and underpants like Katy Perry, Beyonce or Lady GaGa. They should know that not all American girls are party girls like Miley Cyrus, Kim Kardashian, Lindsey Lohan or Paris Hilton, where releasing a sex tape or getting arrested is like winning an Academy Award or Grammy. Maybe that is why when foreigners meet me for the first time and spend quality time with me, they say I am not what they expected from a real American rocker chick. Listen folks, I am not saying I am special or better than anyone else, I'm not.  I still put my shoes on like everyone else, one sneaker at a time. It's just I am conscious of what message I am sending out there by my actions, that's all.
While I would never want girls in this country not to have the new opportunities they are now given in sports, politics, education, military,  the work place and in the arts, they can still go about it with dignity and class. Just like a beauty queen does.
I was never beauty queen material. Although, if I was, I feel I would have nailed the talent portion with my singing. However, I really never wanted to spend that much time in a big fluffy dress.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with girls wanting to do pageants, if they want to. I just didn't roll like that.  And if they get a college scholarship out of it, or if they can travel around the globe like I do showing off a better portrait of what a real American girl is all about, then even better!
Blessings,
Ava

New Horoscope Sign

According to CBS News, who reported that in the Minneapolis Star Tribune that the signs of the zodiac could be off by about a month. Oh great....next thing I'm going to find out I'm not Greek! Sorry folks, that isn't happening here. You can't just randomly change the zodiac signs, I don't roll like that.
I'm a Virgo and I am Greek. No  scientific shenanigans  can convince me otherwise. In fact, there are many things I freely admit I do not know, but here are three things in life I do know:
1. I am Greek
2. I am Virgo
3. Mr. Bricks will get me a record deal
The Powers That Be in the astrology department can make all the radical changes they want with the astrological signs, like adding this new bogus 13th sign called Ophiuchus.  However, no matter what they do, I still will be a Virgo!
Is it just me, or does this whole concept of adding a new 13th astrological sign seem to have Al Gore's fingerprints all over it, doesn't it?
It's really simple. In Greek mythology Astraea was the virgin-goddess of justice and Zeus placed her amongst the stars as the Virgo constellation She was closely identified with Nike, the goddess of victory, and with Nemesis, the goddess of rightful indignation. See it is right there, the Virgo constellation is closely identified with Nike and Nemesis. What is Nike? It is a sneaker! What does Nemesis means? It means it is all about me. I rest my case.
For those who are hardcore astrology fans and know some of the more famous traits for people born under the sign of Virgo you can see in fact there is no way this Greek Girl is anything but a Virgo.
Virgo is earthy and represents the sixth sign of the zodiac. We are known for some of the following traits:
  • Perfectionism (See why Mr. Bricks pushes my buttons?)
  • Analytical minds (Greek Girl knows how to use her noggin - just sayin')
  • Critical of the world (Or is it just critical of certain politicians?)
  • High Standards  (See why I have an issue with Mr. Bricks?)
  • Collecting of Sentimental things  (Sneakers?)
  • Quick Thinker ( See why my blog is doing so well?)
  • Interesting person ( See why my blog is doing so well?)
  • Keep Lists (See why my blog is doing so well?)
Nope, these so-called changes to the astrological charts just doesn't fly with me. Under the new way they figure it I would now be a Leo. Here is a newly configured astrological chart with the 13th sign Ophiuchus added in :
Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16.
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11.
Pisces: March 11-April 18.
Aries: April 18-May 13.
Taurus: May 13-June 21.
Gemini: June 21-July 20.
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10.
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16.
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30.
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23.
Scorpio: Nov. 23-29.
Ophiuchus:* Nov. 29-Dec. 17.
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20.
What's your new sign?
Now, let's look at some of the traits for people born under the sign of Leo and realize what an Epic Fail that would be for me:
First off Leo is a Fire sign...and I'm not feeling that. Besides, I dislike smoking and people who smoke.
  • Pretentious
  • Domineering
  • Melodramatic
  • Stubborn
  • Vain
I am so not any of those! However, if you ask Mr. Bricks he will say I am all of them.
Now I don't want anyone to think I have turned to the dark side and that my life is now being ruled by my astrological sign, fairies and leprechauns.... because that is the furthest from the truth. I consider it a form of entertainment. That's it. End of story.
Blessings,
Ava

Undercover Boss

If you had an opportunity to find out what other people really thought about you, would you want to know? You know, like what is their first impression of you? I certainly don't lead my life worrying about what other's think about me, but as a fun little exercise I wanted to find out. Coincidentally, Miley Cyrus is actually filming a movie right now called, "So Undercover." Cyrus plays a tough private investigator hired by the FBI to go undercover in the one place they're unable to infiltrate - a college sorority.
Anyway, for those who have been following my blog know that I am an actress and a recording artist and that I have a manager and his name is Mr. Bricks. It is Mr. Bricks' job to go around and let everyone know about the Greek Blonde Girl and to get me auditions for my acting career and to get me a record deal.
I usually call my manager Mr. Bricks. Once when I first met him, I asked him if he would mind if I just called him Bricks. Well, his one lazy eye started twitching. I knew after that it was never a good idea just to call him Bricks.
He actually told me it was a sign of respect to call him Mr. Bricks. So he said he would prefer if I called him Mr. Bricks. Ok, Mr. Bricks it is. It's no big deal really, but whatever, I was just asking. When he is in a good mood and there is no twitching from the bum eye, he does let me call him Boss. I am sure it is a power thing to be called Boss, because I actually see the dude smirk when I call him Boss. And it's not a good smirk either - just saying.
Well, my little experiment was something you might see on NBC Dateline or that TV show called Undercover Boss.   I wanted to send Mr. Bricks undercover to a place where I go all of the time to find out what their impressions were of me.  Would it be positive, would it be negative? I didn't know. I figured, just roll the dice and let's see what comes up!
Well I'm not a fancy pants CEO, like on Undercover Boss but I'd love to find out what others think about me.  I think deep down inside we all want acceptance, right?
Ok, so I  put a wig on Mr. Bricks aka Boss and gave him a cheap pair of sunglasses for his undercover work.  Off he went. Here is a written transcript of what happened.
Location: Dunkin Donuts - Somewhere in Manhattan
Undercover Boss (aka Mr. Bricks in disguise)  - Good morning
Donut Employee - Can I get you a freshly glazed donut today Dude?
Undercover Boss - Ummm, sure, why don't I take a 1/2 dozen of your glazed donuts with chocolate sprinkles, to go.
NOTE TO SELF: (Never send Mr. Bricks anywhere near food. What was I thinking?)
Donut Employee: Dude - Is that a wig you're wearing?
Undercover Boss:  shhhh, I'm trying to get information on some one. Don't blow my cover. I wanna show you a picture of this person and tell me if you recognize her?
Have you ever seen this girl before?
Donut employee: That's one of our regular customers Dude. She comes in here like every morning for a cup of coffee . Dude that chick is pretty high-strung.
Under Cover Boss: She's Greek
Donut Employee: I know Dude, we all know that. She tells everyone she is Greek.
Undercover Boss: Interesting. Maybe TMI.
Donut Employee: So Dude...why are you stalking her? You're not some wacko are you?
Undercover Boss: I am not stalking her I am just gathering data on her.
Donut Employee: Dude, I thought that's what Facebook was for.
Undercover Boss: Yes true, but just because she has 9,000+ fans (and really wants to get to 10,000 soon) I still want to find out more about her.  Like, do you think she is a nice person or not?
Donut Employee: Am I getting Punk'd? Where's Ashton? is there a camera somewhere? Am I gonna be on MTV?
Undercover Boss: No, this is just me, Mr. Bricks...ahem, I mean I am just an unidentified guy looking to find out what people think about Ava Aston.
Donut Employee: Is that her real name Dude? We all just called her Blondie.
Undercover Boss: Yes her name is Ava.  She's Greek.
Donut Employee: Dude. I know that.
Undercover Boss: So what is your impressions of her?
Donut Employee: Dude, what's up with your one eye? That's pretty gnarly Dude. It keeps jumping around like a fish at Sea World.
Undercover Boss: I'd rather not talk about it. In fact, can I just get my 6 glazed donuts and get out of here?
Donut Employee: Sure Dude. But don't you still really want to know what I think about Ava? It's all good.
Undercover Boss: No..I think maybe it doesn't really matter what others think about of us. As long as we are happy with ourselves and treat others with dignity. That's what really makes our true character, not what others think about us. I also don't think it hurts to lend a helping hand to those in need from time to time.
Donut Employee: Wow, Dude that was deep.
Ok, the bad news is even after sending Mr. Bricks undercover I never did find out what total strangers think about me, but I guess it doesn't really matter does it? The good news is, Mr. Bricks got 6 free glazed donuts with chocolate sprinkles. The Donut Employee forgot to charge him.
Blessings,
Ava

You Are The Weakest Link

Remember this curt sharp-tongued lady named Anne Robinson, who was the host of the game show called “The Weakest Link”? Her catch phrase after anyone was eliminated was a very quick and unceremonious "You are the weakest link -  good-bye!"
I was thinking how great it would be in real life I was a super hero and I had the secret powers where I could get rid of someone who was not pulling their own weight by simply walking up to them and saying, "You are the weakest link - good-bye!" No further explanation would be needed.  Poof, they would be gone.
How tempting would that be? Hmmm, where would I start? Well today I would have used it on the waitress at the diner who served me a cold cup of coffee.
Me: Excuse me Miss
Diner Waitress: (irritated and smacking gum) What do you want?
Me: ( sweet as pie) Well it seems that you served me cold coffee. Can I get a fresh hot cup?
Diner Waitress: (shrugs shoulders) Whatever
Me: (annoyed at the whatever response Oh, and there's one more thing.
Diner Waitress: (rolling eyes) What now?
Me: You are the weakest link -  good-bye!
POOF she is outta there!
Maybe as the Super Hero I would travel to Washington DC and do a little house cleaning! Poof they are outta there. Oops did I just say that out loud?
This super ability could also really come in handy when all of the relatives are around.
Me: Hey, how have you been? I haven't seen you since our last family get together.
Generic Relative:  Well I'm doing Ok. You know, just hanging in there.
Me: So....have you found a job yet?
Generic Relative: No, the job markets sucks right now.
Me: yah, but it's been like 11 years now since you've worked.
Generic Relative: No, it's only been 10 I think.
Me: No, I'm pretty sure it's 11. It was before the New Millennium. So where are you living these days?
Generic Relative: Oh, you know just couch surfing with friends.
Me: (shocked) oh!
Generic Relative: (in a whispered voice) Well between you and me, if Granny would just keel over I bet she's leaving a bundle of dough for each of us! Then I wouldn't ever have to worry about a job and I could score my own pad.
Me: You are the weakest link -  good bye!
POOF they are outta there!
Of course that was just a joke. I love all of my fun-loving loud Greek relatives and I would never have to employ my secret abilities on any of them. But I might need to use it on my manager Mr. Bricks.
Me: Good morning Mr. Bricks
Mr. Bricks: Hey Ava. What's going on?
Me: You tell me Bricks. Do I have a record deal yet?
Mr. Bricks: No I am working on it.
