The 2009 St. A volleyball team has had a blast this year! From going tournament to tournament, game to game, and countless practices since mid-summer, the season seems to be flying by. The team has played in the Newton, Manteno, and Pana tournaments. And we also cannot forget the most recent NTC tournament last weekend in which we were the victors! Our record now stands at 24 wins and 9 losses.
During the summer we worked hard to get ourselves ready for the season while also bonding as a team and having loads of fun. We drove to Salem every Wednesday for a month for scrimmages against local teams. We also had some overnight tournaments where we made memories of gorging on peanut M&M's and jamming out to Britney Spears.
The fact that regionals are already this Thursday hasn't quite set in for me yet.... I am still waiting for the nerves to kick in. But we can all come prepared for the game to play with pride and confidence because of our improvement and hard work this season. I love being around everyone on the team and I will not forget the friendships we have made and the experiences we have shared.
